DISCUSSION TOPIC
In today’s political environment, business owners cannot afford to simply focus on their product and revenue. Every day, businesses are splashed across headlines because their failure to emphasize issues related to diversity and inclusion leads to situations that are at best embarrassing, and at worst, open them up to legal exposure. In this seminar we will discuss why diversity and inclusion are important, how to recognize perception gaps regarding women and minorities, and how to train your employees to avoid the pitfalls that have landed other companies in hot water. The topics covered will include:- What is the difference between diversity and inclusion?
- Why is it important to my business?
- What is unconscious bias?
- How does bias affect our decision-making, and how can I train myself and my employees to ensure that our decisions are non-discriminatory?
- What can I do to make sure my business is perceived as open and accepting to all races, ages, colors, genders, abilities, and sexual orientations?
- What are my legal risks for failure to comply with Equal Employment Opportunity (EEO) laws?
