Women in Business | Employment Law
Employment LawJoin us for an insightful workshop led by Kathie Henn, a seasoned attorney with over 25 years of experience in employment law. Kathie’s extensive background equips her to provide clear, practical guidance that helps businesses navigate legal responsibilities while continuing to grow. Whether you’re a small business owner, HR professional, or nonprofit leader, this session will provide essential tools to protect your organization and support your team.
Kathie will break down the do’s and don’ts of hiring, interviewing, and making job offers, along with key requirements around employee leave and time off under Illinois law. She’ll also clarify how to correctly classify employees versus independent contractors—an area of frequent confusion—and outline the basic elements every employee handbook should include. Don’t miss this opportunity to get your HR practices in shape and ask questions specific to your organization’s needs.
