    About Us

    Pleasant Home is a Prairie Style house museum located in the heart of Oak Park, one the nation’s most architecturally significant villages. Designed in 1897 by prominent architect George W. Maher, the home is a National Historic Landmark and the only Maher building open to the public as a museum.

    Pleasant Home is available for small event rentals, daily and group tours, and offers a host of programs including performances, lectures, special tours and classes.

    Pleasant Home is owned by the Park District of Oak Park and operated by the Pleasant Home Foundation, whose mission is to restore, maintain and operate historic Pleasant Home.
