Sales and Service Technician (Residential HVAC)

We are seeking a Sales and Service Technician to join our growing team at Aire Serv of Oak Park, a newly launched franchise committed to service excellence. This role combines hands-on HVAC installation and service work with sales and leadership responsibilities, including mentoring a junior technician and an install apprentice. 
Duties

• Diagnose, repair, maintain, and install residential HVAC systems
• Recommend system upgrades, accessories, or service plans (commission-eligible)
• Supervise and train a junior technician and an install apprentice
• Support Cook County permitting and inspection processes
• Perform safety checks and ensure EPA and OSHA compliance
• Use iPad-based tools for job documentation and inventory tracking
• Assist with shop tasks (e.g., restocking, organizing) when service calls slow down
• Participate in seasonal on-call rotation (after onboarding)

• 3–6 years of residential HVAC experience required
• Must own basic HVAC hand tools; tool support or reimbursement provided
• Experience reading schematics and using diagnostic equipment
• Background in mentoring or supervising other techs is a plus
• Sales or upselling experience in service settings is highly desirable
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record required (background check applies)

• EPA Section 608 Universal Certification required; NATE preferred (or within 90 days)
• High school diploma, GED, or HiSET required

• $30–$35/hour based on experience + sales commission and performance bonuses
