BIPOC Affinity Group- Celebrating Native American Heritage Month
Welcome to 2023! Thank you for making the inaugural year of the OPRF Chamber's BIPOC Affinity Group a success. We look forward to you joining us each month as we stay connected with Latinx, Asian-American, Black and indigenous peers from the OPRF business and nonprofit community!
What to Expect
Tamekia Swint and her team at Styles4Kidz invite everyone to a BIPOC Visual Poetry Session.
Celebrate the rich tapestry of Native American heritage this November as we delve into the vibrant world of visual poetry. In honor of Native American Heritage Month, join us for an inspiring session guided by Ann Viernes of Purple Sun Arts, where the art of words intertwines with captivating imagery.
Embark on a journey that goes beyond conventional expressions and taps into the essence of Native American culture. Through the medium of visual poetry, we'll explore the profound connection to ancestral roots, embracing the spirit of sharing that lies at the heart of indigenous communities.
This event is a unique opportunity to not only celebrate the diversity and resilience of Native American heritage but also to connect with one another on a deeper level. Ann Viernes will lead us through a transformative experience, weaving together words and visuals that echo the traditions and stories passed down through generations.
Join us in honoring Native American Heritage Month through the power of visual poetry, a medium that transcends language barriers and fosters a sense of unity. Let's come together, share our stories, and create a space where the beauty of Native American culture can be celebrated and appreciated by all.
