The award-winning Symphony of Oak Park & River Forest will perform music by Josef Suk and Suk’s father-in-law Antonin Dvorák on its season-ending concert Sunday, June 2, at 4 pm in the Chapel of Concordia University.
Music Director Jay Friedman will conduct the orchestra in Suk’s Pohádka (“Fairy Tale”) and Dvorák’s Slavonic Dances. Also performing on the concert is 4th-grader George Wang, who will play the first movement of Mendelssohn’s violin concerto.
A pre-concert conversation begins at 3 pm, and a reception follows the concert. Free parking is available in the parking garage located at 1124 Bonnie Brae in River Forest. Tickets are available at SymphonyOPRF.org, $30 until June 1, and $35 on concert day. Students through college are admitted free of charge.
