Home Design and Adaptation for Aging In Place - Join our Design/Construction/Real Estate Group!

Join the Chamber's Design/Construction/Real Estate affinity group for our gathering - and this month we're inviting the Health & Wellness group to join us!  

Our topic for the evening is design & modification for aging in place - an aspect of universal design.  We'll have presenters and discussion about how to design and build for the needs and abilities of people as we get older, while enjoying refreshments courtesy of our hosts, and making connections within and across industries. 

If you're actively considering making enhancements to your kitchen, bath and/or home office space in your "forever home" you should think about your later years, "Aging in Place" means making the home more accessible, easier to move about and safer to be in as you grow older. 



Presenter Don Huber is a licensed Realtor and president of Huber Homes, a full service general contractor specializing in new home construction and remodels.  They have been in business for more than 25 years. 



Presenter Dr. Cameron Green, PT, DPT, CSCS is a Doctor of Physical Therapy with B-Health.  He holds a Bachelor of Science degree from Furman University in Health & Exercise Science and earned his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Central Florida. Dr. Green is also a Certified Strength and Conditioning Specialist. 

This is an opportunity for Realtors to learn what to look for in housing for clients seeking long-term accessibility, and how to market appropriate listings; for health & wellness professionals to learn what their aging clients may need at home, or may be struggling with; for tradespeople to learn what works for aging populations; and for all to learn what their elder family members and friends may need - or what we may need down the road.
