Thursday Nov. 16 @ 7:30pm D200 to Consider Support for Park District Community Rec Center

The Board of Education of District 200 (OPRF High School) is expected to discuss participation in a collaborative effort with the Park District to fund a Community Recreation Center at its regular November 16, 2018 Board meeting.  The current plan for a community recreation center calls for significant financial support from OPRFHS.  The Board Meeting Agenda was not yet posted as of 11.12.17, but can eventually be accessed by clicking here closer to the 11.16.17 meeting date.

Proponents of the plan cite the need for additional recreation facilities in our community, including an indoor track, indoor pool, gymnasium and meeting spaces.  Concerns include funding of the endeavor, location, future tax implications and potential competition with other recreation facilities / organizations / businesses already in the Villages.
