ARANZA LAW, LLC OPENS AS NEW FAMILY LAW PRACTICE IN OAK PARK, ILL.

OAK PARK, ILL./CHICAGO, OCTOBER 13, 2026 — Attorney Liz Aranza has opened Aranza Law, LLC, a new family law practice based in Oak Park, Ill.  
With over 10 years of experience practicing family law, as well as holding positions with prominent non-profit organizations, Aranza is a seasoned attorney who brings deep expertise and thoughtful guidance to clients. The new firm will provide legal counsel for matters such as divorce, prenuptial agreements, maintenance (alimony), child support, and parenting issues, as well as offer mediation services and collaborative law.
 
“I’m thrilled to be opening the doors of Aranza Law in Oak Park and returning to my true passion, which is helping families in what can often be their most vulnerable times,” said Liz Aranza. “I encourage anyone in need of help in any of these areas to reach out to me, as I’m happy to talk and help find a solution for these challenging situations.”
Aranza adds, “I strongly believe in approaching the practice of family law with the knowledge that no two families are the same and therefore there is no "one size fits all" resolution. Aranza is pleased to have as “of counsel” to her firm the former president of the Illinois State Bar Association and Oak Parker, Bob Downs. Mr. Downs led a highly regarded family law firm, Downs Law Offices and previously chaired the family law councils of both the Chicago Bar and Illinois State Bar Associations.
She previously worked for Downs Law Offices, P.C. in Oak Park and Chicago and Conniff Law Offices, P.C. in Oak Park (now Conniff & Keleher, LLC). Both law firms focus on family law, and Aranza had the opportunity to learn from experienced, highly respected professionals. She also served as a White House intern in Washington, D.C., in 1998.
 
Aranza earned her J.D. from Lewis & Clark Law School in Portland, Ore., and her B.S. in public affairs from Indiana University Bloomington.
 
She is a member of the Chicago Bar Association, Illinois State Bar Association, Women’s Bar Association of Illinois, Collaborative Divorce Illinois, the International Academy of Collaborative Professionals, the OPRF Chamber of Commerce, and the Berwyn Development Corporation.
