Tell Me About This Month's Host
Owner Karla Linares writes, "I'm a proud long-time member of the Oak Park community & excited to finally bring many years of zeal and inspiration to life. Tacos '76 was born from childhood memories of travels to my parent's homeland La Barca & Guadalajara, Jalisco. It is a tribute to my heritage and an homage to the vibrant and colorful neighborhood of Little Village [the historically Mexican-American community on the west side of Chicago].
My endless passion constantly leads me to travel back to Mexico to scout for new regional flavors and recipes, including those handed down from generation to generation. Tacos '76 is proud to highlight the beauty of Mexico's most popular street food, home cooked meals and our culture. We are happy to serve you our treasured family recipes and offer a menu of simple, fresh, quality & traditional Mexican comfort food that includes delicious tacos, burritos, quesadillas with traditional fillings, and much more! Tacos '76 is a family-friendly place that will transport you to the modern-day and vintage taquerias and mercados of Mexico & Little Village in Chicago." We hope you will come celebrate Mexican cuisine and local business with us!
And we'll have a little bonus Latin flavor available:
The Zemi Coffee Cart will be set up in front! Zemi Coffee Cart was born from the inspiration of owner and founder, Dominique Betancourt, to acquire her abuella's farm in Canovanas, Puerto Rico where coffee had been grown in the past. Zemi is on a mission to bring the taste and culture of Puerto Rico closer to home. You can catch them on the street in a pedal-powered coffee cart that offers a smooth taste and a unique experience. Plan on buying yourself a cup of flavor and energy on your way into the BAH!Where Should I Park?
Parking is available on Madison Street, as well as on adjoining side streets. Please park on the nortth side of Madison, so you don't have to run across several lanes of traffic - thank you!
