    Job Description
    Wonder Works Children’s Museum is seeking an enthusiastic, creative and excellent communicator to join a great team of professionals dedicated to early childhood education and the power of play!

    The Communications and Marketing Coordinator will be responsible for effectively communicating with museum visitors, members, donors, and supporters. The person in this role will work collaboratively with museum leadership. Areas of responsibility include: website management, content creation for strategic electronic communications, donor communications and acknowledgements, and creation of marketing materials for the museum, special events, and yearly campaigns. The ideal candidate is a creative, organized individual who can prioritize and problem solve within assigned time frames and work collaboratively with multiple co-workers. The candidate should be a self-motivated individual who can independently assess and prioritize communications and marketing strategies needed for the museum, think creatively, and apply professional skills to enhance the success of the museum.

    Essential Job Functions Manage Wonder Works’ Wordpress website, including developing site content Develop a monthly/yearly marketing plan & calendar Compose and distribute monthly enewsletter to members and targeted groups Compose and post weekly social media content on multiple targeted platforms Track and acknowledge donations, maintaining a database of donors and museum supporters Evaluate the effectiveness of various digital engagement strategies Prepare reports related to donor engagement, membership information, and event participation Develop and design museum literature, promotional materials, and signage Compose and distribute promotional press releases Oversee vendor relationships with print shop, mailing house, graphic designers, and photographers, as needed Maintain all communication and marketing files in an organized and efficient system Fulfill other related and similar tasks and duties as assigned Qualifications and Skills Proficiency in Wordpress website management Proficiency in email marketing software, preferably Constant Contact Comfortable creating marketing materials with Canva or similar design software Proficiency in social media platforms Proficiency in CRM or donor management software, preferably Little Green Light Strong organizational skills, with an ability to multi-task, and ensure timely completion of all projects Excellent verbal and written communication skills Attention to detail and problem solving skills Ability to interact courteously, positively, and collaboratively with colleagues, volunteers, and museum guests

    Experience and Education Considerations Bachelor of Arts or more 2+ years of professional experience in a marketing or communications role Graphic design experience a plus Photography experience a plus Work Schedule This is a part-time position. While a consistent work schedule is preferred, there is flexibility within the working hours and the potential to work remotely. The person in this role is expected to have some availability each week during daytime business hours for meetings and collaboration. Occasional availability to attend special weekend events is also needed. With the seasonal nature of the museum programs and fundraising events, certain weeks may have more or less hours, but no more than 40 hours each month.

Physical requirements include working for an extended amount of time at a computer. This position also may require extended periods spent standing and walking, stooping, kneeling, bending, squatting/crouching, crawling, kneeling, pushing, pulling, reaching above the shoulders and lifting up to moderately heavy objects, such as boxes or equipment.

     Accountability: Leadership Management Team or Executive Director Reports to: Leadership Management Team or Executive Director Compensation: $18-20/hr, commensurate with experience Status: Part-time 10-15 hours/week OR 40 hours a month
