    Job Title: Executive Coordinator


    Organization: Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce


    Reports to: Executive Director


    Position Type: Part-time (20-25 hours per week); ability to grow to full time. 


    Hourly Rate: $20.00-$25.00/ per hour


    Location: Oak Park, Illinois




    The Oak Park-River Forest Chamber of Commerce is seeking a highly motivated and organized individual to fill the role of Executive Coordinator. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work closely with the Executive Director in a dynamic and community-focused environment. The Executive Coordinator will play a vital role in supporting the Chamber's mission by providing administrative assistance, managing social media marketing efforts, handling communications, and ensuring the smooth operation of daily tasks.




    Administrative Support:

    • Provide comprehensive administrative support to the Executive Director, including managing calendars, scheduling appointments, and handling correspondence.

    • Assist in maintaining organizational files, databases, and records.

    • Coordinate logistics for events, meetings, and other activities as needed.

    • Prepare materials and agendas for board meetings, committee meetings, and other gatherings.


    Operations Management:

    • Manage Asana or similar project management software to track tasks, deadlines, and projects.

    • Ensure all operations within the Chamber have a smooth workflow, identifying bottlenecks and implementing solutions as needed.

    • Collaborate with staff members to streamline processes and improve efficiency.

    • Qualifications:


    Social Media Marketing:

    • Manage the Chamber's social media platforms, including but not limited to Facebook, TikTok, LinkedIn, and Instagram.

    • Create and curate engaging content to promote Chamber events, initiatives, and member businesses.

    • Monitor social media channels, respond to inquiries, and engage with followers to enhance community engagement.



    • Draft and edit communications materials such as newsletters, press releases, and promotional materials.

    • Coordinate with members, partners, and stakeholders to gather content and information for various communications channels.

    • Ensure consistent messaging and branding across all communication channels.


    Event Support:

    • Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of Chamber special events. 

    • Collaborate with the Executive Director and other staff members to ensure events are well-organized and successful.



    • Previous experience in administrative support or office management preferred.

    • Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively.

    • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

    • Proficiency in social media platforms and digital marketing strategies.

    • Detail-oriented with a high level of accuracy in all tasks.

    • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.

    • Familiarity with the Oak Park-River Forest community and Chamber of Commerce operations is a plus.
