• Treasurer - Michael Teolis Singers

    The Michael Teolis Singers (MTS), a not-for-profit, 501(c)(3) choral ensemble, is searching for a volunteer Treasurer. The Treasurer is a member of the MTS Board of Directors, and must be acquainted with not-for-profit accounting practices, tax laws, and fiscal record-keeping.
    The Treasurer reviews monthly account records and monitors organizational income and expenditures, and prepares periodic reports to the Board detailing income, expenditures and asset values. (S)he presents a financial report at each Board meeting and prepares and presents the annual financial and audit report (if any) to the Board.
    The Treasurer attends all scheduled Board meetings (usually nine per year) and maintains current knowledge of MTS, its programs, bylaws and articles of incorporation. The Treasurer also attends MTS performances (usually two annually) and manages the “front of the house” activities at each performance, including patron check-in and onsite ticket sales and donations.
    Specific qualifications include:

    • Requisite financial and accounting qualifications and experience
    • Working knowledge and utility in relevant computer programs and applications (e.g., Excel, QuickBooks, Digital Banking)
    • Knowledge of not-for-profit financial requirements and procedures, including fundraising and reporting
