Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest Presents "Romantic Vision"
The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest will perform Romantic-era works on its December 1, 2019, concert at 4 p.m. at Concordia University’s Chapel of Our Lord. Free parking is available in the garage at 1124 Bonnie Brae in River Forest, and the Chapel is directly west of the garage. Concerto-competition winner Sameer Agrawal will perform the first movement of Vieuxtemp’s Violin Concerto No. 5 in A minor. Melody Turner will perform Rheinberger’s Organ Concerto No. 2, and the concert will end with Bruckner’s Symphony No. 3. A free preconcert conversation begins at 3 p.m., and a free reception will be held after the concert. The award-winning Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest is conducted by Music Director Jay Friedman. Agrawal is a freshman at Northside College Prep. Turner is organist at St. Paul’s Episcopal Parish in Riverside as well as a long-time violinist with the S/OP&RF.
