Our practice will be facilitating a free, community grief/healing ritual on Sunday, September 12th from 3-5 in Scoville Park in Oak Park (800 Lake Street). Healing Stone Ritual: This ritual is for anybody dealing with sorrow or grief over the loss of a loved one, a job, losses due to COVID-19, sorrow over environmental destruction, racial trauma and/or systemic oppression, or any other grief or sorrow not listed here. The Stone Ritual we will be facilitating was taken from Francis Weller’s The Wild Edge of Sorrow: Rituals of Renewal and the Sacred Work of Grief. We will place stones in the middle of a circle to represent each grief you carry, and later you may take your stone with you or we will return them to a river to be washed clean again. This ritual will assist you in coaxing your stories into the visible world where they can be held within the healing embrace of community. We ask that you only participate if you have been fully vaxxed. Masks are mandatory and social distancing guidelines will be followed.
