The Symphony of Oak Park and River Forest will present a Mother’s Day concert on Sunday, May 12, at 4 p.m. at Concordia University’s Chapel of Our Lord in River Forest. The award-winning orchestra, under the direction of Music Director Jay Friedman, will present Ernest Bloch’s Concerto Grosso No. 1 and Cesar Franck’s Symphony in D Minor. Concerto competition winner Leah Iosevich will perform Ralph Vaughan Williams’s The Lark Ascending. Tickets are $28, and students through college are admitted free of charge. A preconcert lecture will be presented at 3:00, and a free reception will be held at intermission.
