SUMMARY:Symphony Presents Schumann and Sibelius
DESCRIPTION:The Symphony of Oak Park & River Forest pairs works by Schumann and Sibelius in its concert Sunday\, December 11\, 2022\, at 4 pm at Concordia University's Chapel in River Forest.  The program begins with Mio Nakamura in Schumann's Piano Concerto in A Minor and concludes with Jean Sibelius's Symphony No. 1.  The award-winning Symphony of Oak Park & River Forest is conducted by Jay Friedman.  Tickets are $30 ($27 if ordered online by December 10)\, and students through college are admitted free of charge.  To purchase tickets and for more information\, visit www.SymphonyOPRF.org\, email theSymphonyOPRF@gmail.com or call 708.218.2648.  Free parking is available in the garage at Bonnie Brae and Thomas.  A pre-concert talk begins at 3 pm.  A free reception sponsored by Adam Doe State Farm follows the concert\, and handcrafted mosaic stones will be offered for sale as well.  Ms. Nakamura's performance is underwritten by Emerging Artists Chicago.  The program is supported in part by grants from the Illinois Arts Council Agency\, the Oak Park Area Arts Council in partnership with the Village of Oak Park\, the American Rescue Plan Act\, the National Endowment for the Arts\, and the Gaylord and Dorothy Donnelley Foundation.
