SUMMARY:Nonprofit Affinity Group / Annual Appeal Tuneup
DESCRIPTION:The Chamber's Nonprofit Affinity Group gathers the first Thursday of most months to connect with each other and benefit from some professional development. We start at 12:30 with time to network\, then have our presenter begin at 1 pm. Or come a little earlier to join a few of us for lunch (pay-your-own-way) starting at noon - look for us in the back room! We welcome you to join us! \n\n \n\nThis month: Annual Appeal Tuneup\n\n\nMost nonprofits send an annual appeal letter to donors - at small nonprofits\, it may be the organization's biggest source of revenue. So it's important to get it right! But there is so much to think about - when should it go out? How long should lapsed donors be kept on the list? How should donors be addressed? Who should get it electronically\, and who by postal mail? What should be different between the two appeal letters? Is it still worth including a return envelope? Putting a stamp on the envelope? \n\nDevelopment pro Juliet Yera will share from her experience and help pool all our wisdom as we discuss how to tune up our annual appeals for 2026! \n\n\nWHO IS OUR FACILITATOR?\n\n\n\n\n\nJuliet Yera is the Director of Development and Communications at Hephzibah Children's Home\, and was previously development director at Sarah's Inn. Her career has been spent at nonprofits in Chicagoland\, New York\, and Florida\, increasing fundraising capacity\, creating dynamic and inclusive messaging\, engaging communities and volunteers\, and mentoring and growing high performing teams. She is passionate about helping people help people.\n\n\n\nParking:\n\nParking can be found on Madison\, or on side streets such as Grove.
