DESCRIPTION:Alfonso Iannelli was a Renaissance man whose career spanned more than 50 years at his studio in Park Ridge. He drew magazine illustrations for Collier and Harper's Weekly and vaudeville showcards for the Orpheum Theatre in Los Angeles. His sculptures are "hidden in plain sight: throughout Chicagoland: the west facade of the Prudential building\, the zodiac signs around the Adler Planetarium\, and the art deco Pickwick theater. As an artist\, he codesigned several building and churches in the US. the 1920s and 30s\, Iannelli Studio's Modernist style encountered popular demand. later in his career he ventured into industrial design and patented a wide variety of recognizable appliances and products.\n\n\n\nMaria Hrycelak\, MD\, a Chicago native\, attended OPRFHS\, UICC\, and Loyola Stritch school of Medicine. She completed her residency in park ridge and stayed to establish a large pediatric practice. Maria served as president of the park ridge juniors (formerly 20th century club juniors)\, president of the Ukrainian medical association and foundation and is the current president of the kalo foundation/ Iannelli studios. as an enthusiast of local history\, she has always had an interest in historic preservation\, archives and research of Chicago's past. \n\n\n\nFree and open to the public.
