DESCRIPTION:This is a 5 week class with a graduation show. (No class 4th of July weekend)\n\nAges 9 - 17      \n\nSaturdays from 10am to noon Starting June 20th \n\nStudent Performance - August 1st at 4PM  \n\n\n\nStep into the Spotlight! Our stand-up comedy class is designed to help kids discover their comedic voice and build confidence on stage. Through interactive exercises and games\, students will learn:\n\n\n\n*The basics of joke writing\n\n*How to find humor in everyday life\n\n*Stage presence and delivery skills\n\n*Improvisation techniques to think on your feet\n\n*How to overcome stage fright\n\n\n\nThis class is perfect for kids who love to make people laugh\, want to boost their confidence\, and explore their creativity in a supportive and fun environment. \n\n\n\nStudents must bring a notepad and writing utensils to every class.\n\n\n\nStudent perks include:\n\n \n\n-Free tickets to all Comedy Plex shows during the class session (must be accompanied by an adult over 21)\n\n \n\nAbout your instructor:\n\n \n\nJonathan Keaton is a member of the Screen Actors Guild\, an alum of\n\nthe Second City National Touring Company. He has instructed both\n\nadults and children at Naperville School of Performing Arts\, Paramount\n\nSchool of the Arts\, Dream Big\, American Eagle\, Second City Training\n\nCenter and is currently the Director of the Theater Department at Steps\n\nDance Center. For the past decade he has focused on helping\n\nyoung/new performers use their voice and perspective on stage.
