If you have a marketplace plan and do not shop for a new plan or update your application before December 15th you may be automatically re-enrolled into the same plan or a new 2017 plan. This will allow your coverage to begin January 1st. Watch for important mail from the Marketplace between now and December. Your carrier may also send you mail with important updates about your plan.

It is important to update your information every year and review your coverage options. Changes to your income or number of people in your household can impact the amount of financial help you qualify for to pay for your plan.  So review your options to get the best plan before you renew your plan in year two.
